Privacy Policy

The short version: Toolskia's tools run entirely in your browser. What you type into a calculator or generator stays on your device and is never sent to us. Here is the full, plain-English detail.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names, email addresses, or the contents of any tool you use. The numbers, text, measurements or figures you enter into a calculator or generator are processed locally in your browser and are not transmitted to us or stored by us.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and analytics may record standard, non-identifying technical data such as the page visited, approximate region, browser type and device type. This is used only to understand which tools are useful and to keep the site working. It is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
Cookies, local storage and your consent
Toolskia uses two very different things, and it's worth being clear about both:
- Local storage (essential, never leaves your device): our practice tests and study trackers save your scores, streaks, goals and preferences in your browser's local storage so they're still there next time. This data stays on your own device and is never sent to us or anyone else.
- Advertising & analytics cookies (only with your consent): these are set by third-party providers and are not loaded until you accept them on the cookie consent banner shown on your first visit.
When you arrive, non-essential advertising and analytics cookies are blocked by default using Google Consent Mode v2 (default-deny). They load only if you choose "Accept all" on the consent banner. You can change your mind any time by clearing your cookies and site data in your browser, which brings the banner back. You can control or clear cookies at any point in your browser settings.
Advertising
Toolskia is free and is supported by advertising (such as Google AdSense). Once you consent, third-party advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show relevant ads and measure their performance, in line with their own privacy policies — for example, Google's privacy & terms. These partners may receive standard ad-serving data (such as your approximate location and device) but never receive the contents of any tool, quiz or tracker you use, because that data physically never leaves your browser. If you decline, you'll still see the site and all tools work exactly the same.
Third-party links
Some pages may link to other websites. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies — we are not responsible for the content or practices of external sites.
Children's privacy
Toolskia is a general-audience site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we collect no personal data at all, and ad cookies require consent, children using the site to study are not profiled by us.
Your legal rights (GDPR · CCPA · India's DPDP Act & IT Act)
Because Toolskia collects, stores and transmits no personal data, there is no personal information held by us to access, correct, export or delete — the strongest possible privacy position. Where applicable law gives you rights over data, here is how that works:
- EU/UK (GDPR): our default-deny consent banner means advertising and analytics cookies are not set until you opt in; you may withdraw consent at any time by clearing site data.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or share personal information. We hold none to begin with.
- India (DPDP Act 2023 & IT Act/SPDI Rules): we are not a data fiduciary collecting your personal data — all study data is processed on your own device only.
- For any cookie data held by our advertising partners after you consent, you can exercise your rights directly with them via their privacy policies, or simply clear your cookies.
Your choices and grievance contact
- You can use every tool, quiz and tracker without giving us any personal information.
- You can accept or decline advertising/analytics cookies on the consent banner, and change your mind by clearing site data.
- You can clear local storage at any time in your browser to wipe your saved scores and trackers.
- You can use browser settings or extensions to limit advertising and analytics.
For any privacy question or grievance (including under the IT Act's grievance-redressal requirement), contact us at [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site grows or as laws change. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
